Statement of Publication Ethics

The institutional publishing portal of LPPM STMIK Indonesia Banda Aceh is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. Our ethical guidelines adhere to the core practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), binding all parties involved in the publishing process: authors, journal editors, peer reviewers, and the institutional publisher.

Editorial
Duties of Editors
  • Fair Play & Impartiality: Manuscripts are evaluated solely on intellectual and scientific merit, without regard to authors' race, gender, nationality, or political ideology.
  • Publication Decisions: Editors hold independent responsibility for deciding which submitted manuscripts proceed to review and eventual publication.
  • Confidentiality: Editorial teams preserve strict confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts and communicate only with authorized parties.
  • Conflicts of Interest: Editors must recuse themselves from decisions on submissions where personal or commercial conflicts exist.
Evaluation
Duties of Reviewers
  • Contribution to Decisions: Constructive and timely evaluations assist editors in making informed decisions and aid authors in manuscript improvement.
  • Objectivity: Reviews must be conducted impartially with clear supporting arguments, avoiding personal critique of authors.
  • Confidentiality: Unpublished manuscripts received for evaluation remain privileged documents and must not be shared or discussed.
  • Ethical Scrutiny: Reviewers must notify editors of any substantial similarity or overlap with already published literature.
Authorship
Duties of Authors
  • Originality: Authors must guarantee entirely original work. Citations must properly credit relevant earlier studies.
  • Concurrent Submissions: Submitting identical or overlapping manuscripts to multiple journals simultaneously is strictly prohibited.
  • Authorship Integrity: Authorship must be limited to contributors who made significant conceptual, analytical, or interpretive contributions.
  • Fundamental Errors: Authors are obligated to promptly notify the journal to retract or correct significant errors identified post-publication.
Publisher
Duties of the Publisher
  • Editorial Independence: LPPM STMIK Indonesia Banda Aceh guarantees complete editorial autonomy without commercial or institutional interference.
  • Ethics Oversight: The publisher actively collaborates with editors to investigate alleged research misconduct or ethical violations.
  • Permanent Record: Ensures permanent archiving and accessibility of the scientific record, including errata and retractions when necessary.
  • Legal & Policy Compliance: Ensures adherence to international open-access licensing and intellectual property regulations.
Misconduct & Plagiarism Policy

LPPM STMIK Indonesia Banda Aceh maintains a zero-tolerance policy against research misconduct, including data fabrication, data falsification, and plagiarism in any form.

All submissions undergo systematic similarity checking prior to peer review. Any manuscript exhibiting unacceptable similarity or uncredited material is subject to immediate rejection or formal post-publication retraction following COPE flowcharts.
Specific journal editorial workflows, appeals mechanisms, and retracted notices comply with this institutional framework and are governed by individual journal editorial offices.
