Article Processing Charge (APC)
Journal of Technology and Business operates an author-pays Gold Open Access model. Article Processing Charges (APC) apply exclusively to manuscripts that have been formally accepted for publication following rigorous peer review. There are strictly no submission fees or review charges.
The APC directly funds editorial operations, double-blind peer review administration, professional copyediting, XML/PDF typesetting, permanent Crossref DOI minting, and long-term open-access hosting without commercial paywalls.
| Publishing Stage / Category | Fee Amount | Operational Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Article Submission | IDR 0,- (Free) | No administrative fees are charged upon manuscript intake. |
| Peer Review Process | IDR 0,- (Free) | Expert evaluation is conducted unconditionally free of charge. |
| Domestic Authors (Indonesia) | IDR 250,000,- | Standard APC per accepted article (Inaugural Volume is 100% subsidized by STMIK Indonesia Banda Aceh). |
| International Authors | USD 20 | Standard international publication fee per accepted article. |
| Printed Hardcopy (Optional) | + IDR 250,000,- | Available upon request for domestic authors (excludes courier shipping costs). |
The APC is a flat rate billed once per accepted manuscript, irrespective of page length, number of co-authors, or color figures. The printed copy is wholly optional and does not affect the digital open-access release of the article.
- Automated manuscript screening, intake triage, and similarity checking via Turnitin, iThenticate, and Copyleaks.
- Editorial coordination and management of independent double-blind peer review.
- Professional copyediting, citation formatting, and XML/PDF layout typography proofs.
- Official Digital Object Identifier (DOI) minting and metadata registration with Crossref.
- Permanent digital archiving, server maintenance, and immediate worldwide open-access dissemination under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.
Editorial adjudication is strictly separated from financial transactions in accordance with COPE principles:
- Academic Acceptance: Following revisions and positive reviewer recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief issues an official editorial decision and a formal Letter of Acceptance (LoA) based purely on scientific merit.
- Invoice Delivery: The corresponding author receives the official publication invoice via the OJS submission dashboard and official journal email.
- Payment Settlement: Payment is completed via official institutional bank transfer within 10 business days of invoice receipt.
- Production & Proofing: Upon proof of transfer verification, the manuscript proceeds immediately to galley layout formatting, Crossref DOI allocation, and publication scheduling.
Because production commitments (copyediting, layout typesetting, and Crossref DOI registration) begin immediately upon academic acceptance, processed publication fees are strictly non-refundable, including instances of unilateral author withdrawal post-acceptance. Refunds are issued exclusively under rare circumstances directly attributable to publisher error (such as accidental duplicate billing transactions).
Journal of Technology and Business is committed to ensuring that financial barriers do not impede scientific dissemination. Authors from low-income countries (World Bank classification) or domestic scholars experiencing demonstrable financial hardship may apply for a partial or full APC waiver.
Waiver requests must be submitted during initial manuscript submission via the Editorial Office Contact, accompanied by an institutional justification letter. Editorial decisions are strictly firewalled from waiver assessments; peer reviewers and editors have no access to authors' fee or waiver status during the evaluation process.
