Pasir Peuteuy Village, Pandeglang Regency, faces adult illiteracy challenges estimated at 10–20%, particularly among the elderly without formal education. This low literacy hampers access to public services, health information, and agricultural livelihoods sustaining approximately 90% of residents. This community service program aimed to improve basic numeracy, reading, writing, and functional literacy skills for daily application. Conducted over three days at the village hall for elderly women and school-dropout youth, the training applied a life-based learning approach encompassing letter-number recognition, literacy practice, and reading product labels, signage, and digital messages. Rubric-based evaluation across four components for nine participants showed an average score of 85.3 (two very good, five good, and two fairly good). This contextual approach effectively enabled participants to achieve proficient functional literacy, though it lacked pre-test data for comparison and requires sustained assistance to expand community engagement.
