Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of Instagram as a medium for population administration education through “Sinau Siklo” content on the Instagram account of the Department of Population and Civil Registration of Wonogiri Regency (Disdukcapil Wonogiri). It employs a constructivist paradigm and a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected in January–February 2026 through observation and documentation of the content and user interactions on the Disdukcapil Wonogiri Instagram account. The unit of analysis consisted of four “Sinau Siklo” posts—#5, #6, #7, and #8—published between November 26, 2025, and January 21, 2026. The data were analyzed using the five elements of Harold D. Lasswell’s communication model: communicator, message, channel, receiver, and communication effect. The four posts received a total of 78 likes and 26 comments. On several posts, users asked questions and raised population administration issues. Admin replies to user comments indicated two-way interaction, although such interaction was not observed on every post. These findings indicate that “Sinau Siklo” serves as a public communication channel for sharing population administration information while providing a space for users to respond. This study did not directly measure improvements in public understanding; therefore, the communication effect is limited to user responses observable on Instagram.
